DRINKING WATER QUALITY
We are required to monitor your drinking water for specific contaminants on a regular basis. Results of regular monitoring are an indicator of whether or not your drinking water meets health standards. During 2017 we did not complete all monitoring for lead and copper monitoring, and therefore, cannot be sure of the quality of your drinking water during that time
This drought has become an increasing concern for us at Green Valley Mutual Water Company regarding the water supply for Green Valley Lake.
The Governor of California has declared a drought emergency and is requesting a 20% reduction in water consumption. The water supplies in the State are over 80% down below average. Farming and agriculture industries will be reduced in water delivery to 5% of normal. We can expect to see food prices and all effected water related costs increase through out the year. Water releases from the Colorado River are being reduced. Simply said, we are in a bad way.
I have been assured that State water (C.L.A.W.A.) will be able to assist us if the need should arise but this is costly. We are asking that the Community of Green Valley Lake assist us in these drought times with a voluntary water conservation reduction of 20%. This can be achieved through a variety of conservation efforts. Please contact me at our office (909) 867-2919 and we can discuss conservation efforts that would be best for you.
The ever present danger of fire is magnified even more with a lack of precipitation. The fire danger will remain high this year. Maintaining brush clearances and creating a defensible space is of the utmost importance this year.
Thank You for your help and Regards,

PREVENTION SAVES $$$
Please remember to always use your stop n' waste drain valve every time you leave your cabin. This will help prevent water loss, costly water bills and property damage from broken / leaky water pipes. Frozen and burst pipes is our biggest water loss in Green Valley Lake.
This year we lost well over 2 million gallons of water from leaks where users failed to use their stop n' waste valve. A fine of $250 may be imposed, if you do not use your valve and you have a leak from negligence.
